Excuse the oh so catchy title.

It's my 3rd round of BSD, I'm just about going to squeeze in 7.5 weeks before I go away. I don't expect anyone to follow this but I'm going to do it anyway to motivate myself. Please feel free to join me!

I'm aiming to lose a stone, that's just shy of 2lb a week.
Weight today: 12.4
My plan is simply to follow the plan- 800 cals a day of Med style eating, with no pasta, rice, potatoes, grains or sugar.

Total cals:867
Total carbs: 16g
Exercise: none, except several hours of housework

Day 1 ✔️

Day 2

Food: slice of ham and slice of cheese
Chicken soup made with real stock, spinach, onion, lemon
Greek yoghurt with 2 strawberries
2 fresh apricots
Pollock fillet baked with spinach, lemon and cherry toms then drizzled with pesto, served with mixed veg.

Total cals: 824
Total carbs: 42g
Exercise: 3 x walks to school and back!

Day 2 ✔️

Slightly over on the calories but my food has been delicious!

Not the best pictures for day 4!

Cals: 925
Carbs: 61
Exercise: nothing really, not even school run as its voting day!

Went over on cals and carbs. Made delicious veg and bean ratatouille, and had left over bolognese for dinner. I've been hungry today though, and picking on bits throughout the day.

Hi bear - also coming to cheer you on! I want to do this but can't seem to get under about 1300 cals a day...I do loads of exercise though which I don't want to give up and seem to need the extra calories! I know that I could really achieve my final weight loss goal if I did what you are doing for the next 5.5 weeks which is how long I have before my holiday. I am watching with interest as being on these types of thread is fantastic for motivation and also seeing what others eat. Well done you are doing brilliantly!!

Lou thanks!
As you can tell, I don't really exercise, so it doesn't really affect me, but even then I find it very hard to stick to 800 cals. Sometimes I will hit 800 and think perfect, and then go and eat something which I don't even want.
Do you exercise every day? If not, why not do the 5:2 option in the book, follow the med style but don't count cals on the days you exercise, and in the 2 days 'off' do 800 calories?

I hope this doesn't sound unsupportive coz it's not meant to, but do you think because it's so hard to stick to 800 calories that this diet is really just a bit too restrictive for most people, day in day out for 8 weeks? Since my first week ended and I had my massive wobble I've tried not to stress too much about the calories. I'm just wary of getting frustrated with myself and getting a downer on myself. I feel converted to this way of eating right now and never uncomfortably hungry and apart from two alcoholic drinks over nearly six weeks I haven't been seriously tempted by "forbidden" foods. I'm managing to lose weight at a higher rate, not as much as some, than I ever have before but... Such a low cal intake over 8 weeks is a really long time!

I don't want to dis people who are managing this bsd properly, I think that's great if you can, but I keep reading about people messing up and hope they arent giving themselves a hard time.

Actually, I meant to post this on the main bsd thread because it was for a wider audience and not personally at you, bear. I'm interested in a wider discussion, thinking "is it just me?"

Day 7

Yesterday started well but ended with a few bad choices. But no wine. So I consider that a victory of sorts.

Today, although it is Sunday and usually one of the 'lost days' of the week has gone very well indeed. I haven't worked out the numbers yet, but my food has been good, no snacks and I'd imagine pretty low carbs. I can't remember the last Sunday I could have said that so I am very pleased.

I have just completed week 4 of bsd. Very happy to report that I have lost just over 21lbs so far.

I adore this 'diet', which I don't even see it as.

I can't remember the last time I felt hungry.

The recipe book that accompanies the book is absolutely fabulous.

It's my 40th birthday in August, so I aimed to lose as much as u could before then.

Had a drink on a couple of weekends, but we gotta live, right?

I have, in the main, avoided alcohol, but cos I am 'in the zone', it hasn't bothered me at all'

I have a lot of weight to lose. At least 4 stone, which I obviously won't do before my bday, but I plan to keep going.

We can support each other!!

Week 1 weigh in.......

Started: 12.4
Today: 11.13
Loss: 5lb

Considering that I had 4 successful days, one average, one with a Red Cross and one that I didn't even write down, that is not too horrendous at all. My plan to restrain myself at the weekend seemed to have prevented me regaining all that I'd lost during my strict first few days, and I managed to maintain. This week is my optimum week for weight loss in my cycle so I intend to capitalise on that and do the same again hopefully. I'm now just into the 11's again and this time I fully intend to stay there!

Plan for week: achieve more ✔️days than last week;
Do some more formal exercise such as shred
Get some batteries for my kitchen scales!!

Day 9
Way over on cals today but just needed it for some reason. Had leftover butternut for lunch and think the higher carbs/sweet taste gave me the munchies. Everything has been on plan but just too much of it. I've discovered REAL Greek yoghurt, not Greek style, and oh my, it's delicious. I had some rhubarb to use so made a compote and had it with walnuts on Greek yoghurt, which probably goes some way to explaining my high calorie count today.

Cals: 1378
Carbs:37g
Exercise: 1.5 hours gardening (quite strenuous), 2x school runs.

Day 9:

Need to get back on track tomorrow so I'll sit tonight and plan my food more carefully; it was leftovers of a high cal meal that sent me over the top today do must try to be one step ahead for tomorrow
