One hard boiled egg or protein shake in the mornings (post exercise, if I'm not working out for some reason I skip breakfast).

Miso soup and an apple around 2pm.

Dinner of chicken and fish with vegetables or salad.

Becks blue or a square of dark chocolate if I fancy a treat.

I should say my FDs come in at 500-600 cals as on exercise days.

No breakfast
Small amount of carrot sticks over lunch. I also take an emergency apple or banana with me in case i feel too hungry to concentrate.
Veg stiry fry with some chicken or fish. Or a soup.
I used to stick diligently to 500 but now I'm in maintenance it's closer to 550.

Then have a meal of prawns with a tescos oriental frozen stir fry and a tin of chopped tomatoes flavoured with curry powder, then 2 x 10 cal jellies with blueberries.

If cals left have a 40 cal options hot choc.

I usually an apple mid afternoon and then for dinner, I have Courgetti with peanut butter, lime juice, sweet chilli sauce and soy sauce as my main meal which comes in at about 200cals and then a bowl of bran sticks with semi skimmed milk at another 200 cals as the fasting can make me a bit constipated - sorry, tmi!

Protein as much as poss. No breakfast. Eggs and salad/asparagus for lunch. Chicken/white fish and veg for dinner or a veg or prawn curry (no rice). Try to avoid carbs but might have a popcorn or a rice cake if I really need something crunchy. Couple of cans of Diet Coke. Couple of fruit/mint teas and loads of water. I actually quite enjoy it.

I skip breakfast and sometimes lunch as well, and then just have a small portion of whatever everyone else is having for dinner.

I drink a lot of tea and water through the day, and chew sugar-free gum.

I've never been a big breakfast eater, even before 5:2. I'm not hungry at that time of day, and if anything, it kick-starts my appetite making me want to eat something mid-morning. However, received wisdom is that skipping breakfast means terrible things will happen, and the sky will effectively fall down on your head.

However, I'm not convinced that our prehistoric - and even much more recent - ancestors woke each morning, wandered out of their caves, and sat down to a regular breakfast. Confused If there was food, then I'm sure they ate it, but surely there wouldn't always have been. Especially in winter.

Are humans really designed to ALWAYS eat breakfast, and to basically malfunction if they don't have it?
