Great that you're about to try this WOL - I've been doing it for almost 4 years, now, 3 years maintaining my weight after losing 24lbs. Just had the fourth Xmas in a row where my weight has stayed the same from beginning to (well, not quite) the end!
First off, let me tell you that non-meat eaters have a distinct advantage on this WOL. (It's not a diet, BTW, weight-loss is merely a very useful side-effect! )
I'm a vegan, and veggie/vegans already know all about the low-cal advantages of veggies. My record for a low-cal veg curry - which left me stuffed - was 75 cals!
That recipe is one of a couple of hundred 5:2 recipes here on this thread:
Bb, there's a new thread just started - be a great time to jump in. We always get a few newcomers joining with a new thread, so you won't be on your own. In any case, we've had quite a few over the last few days.
The best thing you can do would be to read the OP in the thread - it's chock full of info and tells you everything you need to know. The second thing would be to watch the Horizon programme - that's very inspirational!
