Fasting / 5:2 diet

Anyone lost weight doing a 14 hour daily fast (with a 10 hour eating window)?

I've started finishing my last meal at 8pm and then not eating again the next morning until 10pm or 12pm. I have found that my stomach has shrunk a bit but I can't find too much anecdotal evidence of whether this is good for weight loss (just that it is good for other things/longevity). Does anyone do this type of fast and if so, have you lost weight/fat? Thanks.

Place marking as I am going on holiday next week and normal fasting is going to be really difficult.

I've been doing 16:8 for the last three months or so. I've been doing it to maintain my weight but have lost a few lbs and feel much leaner.

I've definitely stopped eating junk - much more whole grains, nuts and protein. I also have a much smaller appetite so find portion control much easier.

I should also add that I'm housebound at the moment so can't exercise so I'm probably not using many calories. My 16:8 routine looks something like this :

Breakfast at midday - large bowl of berries, fage Greek yogurt and homemade granola
Approx 3.30pm - 3 oatcakes with walnut butter and a pear
6pm - regular dinner

Thanks. I do find that it has lowered my appetite somewhat. I just don't feel as hungry and definitely feel satiated quicker. This is my 4th day and my tummy has definitely shrunk quite a bit.

It should work if it means you eat less overall. Calories are not the whole story, but they are dominant.

Do 12-14 hours typcially. Gets easier by the day. Have done 5:2 but dont fancy yet- maybe this will be a step towards it.
