Could I have low iron since having my coil fitted?

I had the copper coil fitted in December, since then Iv had very heavy periods which I was told is normal. They seam to be pretty regular but I do have a few days during them when it’s very heavy and I soak through completely at night. The last week Iv been feeling tired, breathless when walking around and having head aches. I thought at first It may be a bug on its way but it hasn’t flared into anyhing it’s just stayed the same so I’m going to ring my gp on Monday for an appointment. Could it be that my iron is low from all the heavy periods or is that a stupid idea? Iv had low iron in my pregnancies and it felt kind of similar

I've developed severe anaemia from heavy periods with the coil. All the symptoms you describe plus palpitations, anxiety and horrible, horrible tiredness and brain fog. 3 months of very high dose iron and I'm getting back to normal but the coil had to come out. Definitely get a blood test.
