3 months none stop bleeding from the pill

#i already posted this on an old thread but thought better if it.

I was on cerazette before I had my daughter but the local clinic started me feanolla when my daughter was 5 weeks; they told me it was exactly the same pill but they didn’t stock cerazette anymore. My daughter is now nearly 10 months and I’ve stuck with it this long. The first 5 months I had regular periods which were ridiculously heavy and lasting 10-12 days each. The clinic told me to take 2 pills per day when I went back to discuss it. I have now been bleeding for 3 months + straight; granted, not as heavy but bleeding nonetheless.

GP, clinic and gynaecology at the hospital (yes, I bled so heavily I had to have it investigated) told me I have to ride it out and changing or stopping could make me worse. I am already anaemic and take regular iron but I’m so scared of making it even worse.

Would would you all do?

Did you bleed on Cerazette? If not ask the GP specifically to prescribe it. I wouldn't be happy bleeding constantly, ask to be referred again to gynae.

Can you switch to other things like the combined pill or a coil or anything? Surely you can’t just continue like that. I don’t personally think these new pills they are replacing everything with are exactly the same :(. The pill is also supposed to be reversible so surely if you came off it the bleeding would eventually stop once it was out of your system. When I come off things like this I bleed for like two weeks then it usually stops

No I was great on cerazette. I asked my GP to prescribe it and they literally said no and that it was nothing to do with them since I go to the FP clinic.

I can’t have combined because I have a family history of stroke. I really think a mirena coil is the best option but I’m not sure it’s worth it. I plan to get pregnant with DC 2 around June next year. You’re right though, I can’t carry on like this. Just this last week I’ve gone heavier and heavier by the day.

There are other pills which contain completely different things. They regularly give out noriday (norithisterone) or you can ask for norgeston which is different again. Good luck

Have you considered a natural contraception method such as Natural Cycles?

I was on the pill for 9 years and when the drs told me they had 'rebranded' my pill I started noticing symptoms such as sensitive breasts and just feeling unwell on it.

I feel alot better without any artificial hormones in my body but I understand it isn't for everyone. Just thought I'd share my experience

I haven’t because I’ve always needed something to control my natural periods which were always heavy (but nothing like this).

I’ve always had slightly irregular periods too, does that matter with NFP? To be honest, at this point I’m willing to try anything to make this stop.
