I've always been a bit anxious. This went away completely during pregnancy, came back afterwards, went through the roof after two A&E visits with severe abdominal pain that turned out to be caused by a 5cm dermoid cyst on my right ovary. The pain was probably from an ovarian torsion that resolved itself both times, ended up eventually having the ovary removed.
Around the time of the A&E visits, on top of the increased anxiety my periods became irregular (they'd always been like clockwork), flow can vary from light to bleeding through a pad onto my clothes in 20 minutes, I have thrush nearly every month the week before my period, I also sometimes get quite severe breast pain which I never had before.
I'm wondering if the Mirena would help with all of the above, and specifically with the anxiety as hormones do seem to effect it. Does anyone have any experience of this?
The contraception element would be handy as well, but I'm wary of hormonal contraception as I didn't have a great time on either the combined pill or POP. I understand Mirena is a lot lower dose though, and if it addressed the above issues it would be worth it.
