Really Don't Know What To Do!!

I am in a real dilemma. I have been given Cerazette by the doctors but haven't yet started taking it, as I keep reading horror stories online (I know I shouldn't have googled it really :-))

I am currently not using any form of contraception, I used to take Logynon prior to having children but unfortunately I smoke and I am now 40 so I can't take the combined pill anymore.

I tend to suffer at the moment quite badly with PMT, tender breasts, moods and general grouchiness 2 weeks prior to my period starting. My periods are also much heavier and longer since having children.

My dilemma is, if I take Cerazette, do you think my symptoms will get worse, or do you think they may improve? I know everyone is different with taking hormones etc but just trying to decide whether to go for it and see how I get on with it, or will I end up regretting it, as it may mess up my periods! my periods are currently every 28-30 days, so very regular! I love the though that I could end up not having a period, but would have the thought of constant bleeding all the time!

I am pretty certain that I have a hormone imbalance, as I have not felt like this prior to having children. Do you think taking Cerazette would help me?

Sorry for the long post!! if anyone has any positive reviews of Cerazette please could you reply to the post.

Thank you

I too was prescribed cerazette but after reading god awful things on here describing it as the "devil pill" I binned it and never started. For me it was even the thought of continuous bleeding like the coil that put me right off.

Your lucky your periods are regular so personally I wouldn't mess with your cycle. Use a fertility app and condoms and ask for tranexamic acid to lessen your flow.

Mine aren't as regular as yours but not bad 22-27 days and I've been using natural cycles after someone on here suggested it. It's great.

I can't have any hormonal contraceptives after having blood clots in my legs after giving birth twice! Only option my obstetrician said I could have was the copper coil. OH had a vasectomy instead. Have you considered asking your significant other if he would consider it?

If you are not using any other form of contraception, then your 28-30 day periods might be interrupted by a 9 month break.

If you don't want to take the pill, use a barrier method.

Have you considered a coil (with ir without hormones)?
