So I got the rod took out and same day the coil copper went in because I wanted no hormones!!! But it’s been over a month since having it done and I’m bleeding everywhere. I have to change my bad nearly every two hours. And when I wake up in the morning I have like clots of blood on my pad and when I wipe there’s loads of blood. I don’t know if this is normal?? But because it hurt getting put in I don’t want to go doctors to them to remove it. Also keep getting really bad cramps

Hi! Unfortunately it is completely normal. Stops for some woman, doesn’t for others. You should go back to your doctors in case they want to do swabs though. You can get really bad infections from copper coils and you want to get it treated ASAP. It is your choice whether you have it removed or not. In my experience the dr’s are much more likely to pressure you to continue with it anyways. My dr also prescribed me Norethisterone to try and stop the bleeding (which totally confused me as I was told there were no hormones in this yet I was given hormones to control the bleeding). It didn’t work for me but it might be worth speaking to the dr because this could go on for a long time yet and all that bleeding is bound to make you feel a bit run down. Hope this helps!

I got my copper coil out on 07/09/17 and I've only just got my period this month 06/12/17 and it's still going 7 days later and isn't showing any signs of stopping. Has anyone else had this? It's driving me nuts.
