Hello everyone, I apologise in advance if this is all way to much information, so please be warned, but i am in a bit of a panic and wondered if anyone could healp ease my anxieties.
So long story short, my and my husband finally found the time to have some er..."private" time together a few days ago. I have the Mirena Coil and have had for approx a year, after the birth of my DD.
I was lying on the sofa this afternoon and had the most awful cramps and thought it was odd as i dont have periods anymore and haven't had any complaints from my coil for months. So i duly decided to check my strings and alas i can't find them ANYWHERE!
I am seeing the nurse for my smear test incidently this week so I am not hugely concerned by their absence at this current moment as I am sure I can get it addressed with her.
What I am worried about is that I may have (get ready for it) shoved the tip of my finger far enough into my cervix opening to move my coil if it is still in there? In my panic i managed to get the tip of my finger in the actual hole of my cervix a bit futher than i meant to, as usually i have to poke it around the opening as my strings have always been short and usually can just feel a little spiky stub.
I'm worried i could have prodded it out of place, higher into my body. I had assumed anatomically that may not be possible, but I have gotten myself freaked out now and wondered if any more knowledgable people here could advice me if this is possible?? (It appears i have quite long fingers haha :)
Apologies, this is probably the most daft question to have been asked on this board, thanking you all in advance. Fingers crossed it's still in there workings in magic, eeek!
