What's the recovery like after sterilisation?

I'm booked for tubal occlusion (with clips) in a few weeks time. I'm just wondering how long I will realistically need to recover? The surgeon reckons a couple of days, but I'm thinking a week at least, given I will have my kids to look after as well and they have zero empathy when I'm ill 🙄 (my OH will be also around though).
Also - does anyone have any tips for post op that could be useful? I'm worried about pain management and avoiding infection in the stitches. Thanks
