The Implant and choices

Hello

I'm not sure where I should have posted this so I'm sorry if this is under the wrong topic.
I had the implant put in mid-end of July. I used to be on microgynon, however since having my son nearly a year ago I have noticed it turns me in to "evil bitch" and taking a pill everyday was becoming a challenge while running around after my son.

Anyway, my periods were always regular while on the pill and very heavy. I though the implant would save the hassle of remembering to take a pill everyday. I did a lot of research and I know it can cause side effects and irregular periods etc.

My problem is, my first period on the implant came 2 days early lasted about 8 days (usual duration for me anyway) and was very light. However 2 weeks later, on the 29th of August I got another period, fairly medium to heavy and it's not stopped since! 5 weeks Tuesday since I got this "period". I have been to the doctors who prescribed me the mini pill (doesn't contain the progesterone like microgynon so shouldn't turn me evil). To try to stop the bleeding, that was a week ago and it doesn't seem to be showing any signs of stopping.

I'm sorry this is so long but I'm wondering if I should just have the damn thing taken out, if I'm taking a pill that contains the same hormones anyway then why bother! I've looked at the coil, injection etc and they don't appeal to me. Any advice and guidance if I should just have it taken out and use the mini pill instead!

You'll struggle to get it out. From my experience most GPs strongly encourage you to leave it in to "settle down".

I bled for 8 months and they refused to take it out until I told them if they didn't I would Confused

Oh no @Pombliboo123 I'm tempted to back to the clinic where I had it fitted. Surely if it's causing problems and you asked for it out they would do it. It's your body after all.

I'm very tempted to cut my arm off!
