Clotting / mini pill / trying for a baby

Hi all. This is my first post and my husband and I are considering trying for a baby next year and I am hoping for some advice?

I'm 34 (husband is 37) and we are hoping to start trying from Jan 2017. I have been on Cerazette for a number of years without a break and earlier this year I had some fairly large clotting. Think the size of your thumb and pretty much had a period for 2-3 months. After lots of tests I was told all was ok and they thought it was just a hormonal imbalance (originally I was told it could be a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy!!! Luckily it wasn't)

Has anyone had a similar situation. It worries me along with mine and my husbands age that we will struggle to conceive

Many thanks

I think this might have gone unanswered because this is the contraception topic.

It's usually advised that you come off the pill 2-3 months before TTC, so if you have not done so, it's time to do so now. Then use barrier methods until you are (reasonably) sure of your cycle under your own hormones.
