Hi all

New to this but have a question, I'm on the mini pill and have no periods I missed a pill the other day and had sex the day after. As I don't have periods how likely is pregnancy?

Thank you

Oh it could be. How late are you? Best to take a peegnancy test right away.

How late was I with the pill? About 26/27 hours? Although will it show this early?

no I don't think it will show this early. I think it will be at least two weeks before you could test.

Didn't think so :/ so even though I don't have periods, because I missed a pill the same day/day after having sex that can cause pregnancy? :o crazy!!

You could Google for the patient information leaflet from your specific brand of pill.

For some pills, what you describe would risk pregnancy. Others perhaps not. It depends on type and which pill in the pack was missed.

You can have a coil fitted up to five days after having unprotected sex as a form of emergency contraception. It might be a good idea for you to visit a family planning clinic so that they can explain to you how the pills work etc.

Check the leaflet in the pack for info about a missed pill but normally they suggest that you use condoms or abstain for 7 days after missing a pill.

However some are okay if you miss one as long as you don't miss two in one 7 day period. This also counts if the missed pill occurs within a week of the placebo or pill free week. You can run two packs together to avoid that happening if it's not too late.

But you need to read the leaflet.

I think it's pretty unlikely. I've been on the pill for a couple of years and have missed it 2 or 3 times, then taken it at the same time as my next one or as soon as I've remembered Hmm
