mirena coil replacement query

Hi I am 44, I have had two mirenas and they been brilliant, virtually no periods at all. I have had the second one for 5 years, do I need to get it replaced as soon as possible or can I leave it a bit longer?. My second one was quite painful when it was replaced and the bleeding took a little while to settle down and if I could avoid having this one taken out unnecessarily that would be great. I assume my fertility is currently declining rapidly due to my age.

When do you turn 45? If you wait until then then you can leave the next one in until you are post menopausal. I would be tempted to use condoms as well from the 5y point to your 45 th bday then get it changed.
