I was taken off the pill 12 yrs ago due to high blood pressure. wasn't on anything and fell preg, then after birth, I went on the mirena coil, brilliant but my boobs for 3 weeks every month was killing me. And then.went on copper coil but bled very heavily for forever!!, then injection but my mood swings was there..now on jaydess since last year but its exactly the same as mirena.

Now thinking of the implants...

The nurse said that I've got a reaction to the two coils, mirena and jaydess

So prob think.im.gonna try them.all!!

I'm 41.

Have you tried the mini pill as it is ok for women with high blood pressure?

I could be wrong but I thought the mirena coil, mini pill & implant were all progesterone-only medicines, but in different formats. Ergo if you react badly to one you'll react badly to the 3 of them.

I could be wrong, check the info out.

I ditched all hormonal birth control at age 30 as it was dementing me, weight gain, constant bleeding, etc.

Now use a mix of fertility awareness method and condoms and feel much better.

I had fortnightly bleeds with 2 mini pills but the 3rd one I tried stopped them. I was ok with the mirena too.

They might all be progesterone only but different hormones can have different side effects

Demented - They did mention ages ago about the mini pill for me to try out. They are aware of my high blood pressure.

Lid - I do hope i can find something that agreed with me. yes I've read on the natural way to protect myself....i would be rather be on something 😁

I think condoms are the best bet.
