Anyone have any advice?
Have mirena which was fitted end of July. Still getting spotting. Some brown and red blood and it appears a period which lasts around 2 weeks.

If you have/had mirena how long should I expect it to take to settle down?

I'm feeling fed up with it.

I'm on my 3rd mirena (babies in between) and although most women will have no bleeding some women will have experience some bleeding. I still get some spotting after 9months but doesn't bother me however with my other mirena I had a very small amount of spotting everyday until I had it removed to get pregnant. I did discuss this with gp and had swabs and scan which were all normal. Before the mirena I had heavy painful periods so I accepted that it was better than having that. So it depends how much it bothers you. But talk to ur GP if concerned.

Sorry my post wasn't very clear. Basically some women will have some bleeding with the mirena this can be daily or monthly or completely randomly. If it's going to get better it should do by a year to 18months time. But see ur gp to rule out another course such as infection.

Thanks for your reply. I had it checked early Nov by the clinic who put it in as I felt I was bleeding more and felt a lump on my cervix. The dr there said it was normal.. To bleed.
I just want to have days with no bleeding and a regular cycle.

The joys of womanhood.

I had issues like this and the Dr at the clinic gave me a couple of months of the pill to take, to settle the bleeding. It worked well, and when I came off the pill I only had a very light amount of spotting once a month. I hope things settle down for you.

Thanks pickle. I do have a prescription of the mini pill. I was suppose to take it as well but had gallbladder issues. Today the bleeding has become a lot heavier. The dr who fitted it in a sexual health clinic told me it just takes time, but I though nearly 5 months down the line it would be better.
