Family planning

Contraception help

Ive recently had my Mirena coil removed, as I finally realised that I was making me crazy; I had extreme mood swings and was constantly irritable (l also had no period for 4 years whilst on it). I wanted to let me body get back to normal a bit and have a normal period before using an alternative contraceptive method. The family planning clinic have given me the progesterone only pill (Zelletta), but I've been reading that this also causes mood swings and loss of libido, so unsure whether to take. Any suggestions what I could do? (husband refuses to use condom - don't get me started on how angry this makes me!)

The hormone in minera is a similar progesterone only one to all the pops.

If you don't want hormones your options are:

Copper coil
Condoms
Male/female sterilisation
Diaphragm
Withdrawal
Rhythm/natural method
Abstinence
Abortion

Imo condoms are the best of this bunch.

I've known dps to be given a 'no snip, no sex' ultimatum.

Thanks Athenaviolet. The way I feel at the mo - abstinence would be my preference;)

I came off micronor-no funny bleeding but was very depressed and bloated. Also had joint pains. I think I might have to go the diaphragm route, though I did not like it in the past. Everyone does react differently, but I have had no luck with anything so far and I am sick of going back and forth to the GP.
