Anyone else taking the combined pill at 49+

So just been back to the GP after trying several options to manage peri-menopausal symptoms and contraception. Basically, the low dose stuff isn't managing my hormones and cerazette was a nightmare. She was happy to put me back on the combined pill (that I took for the best part of 20 years with no problem). As far as she was concerned if I had no other risk factors, and my blood pressure was OK, she was happy to prescribe it. Anyone else out there doing this or should I be looking for a second opinion?

I was told I was too old at 36 for combined pill yet I don't smoke, drink or have any other risk factors. posted about it on here and think nearly everyone said should be no reason not to get combined pill.
