I had my first nexplanon inserted on 2nd Dec 13 after having my daughter as I thought it would be great not having to think about contraception for 3 years. I had to ask my doctor for extra pills (norithesterone) over xmas to stop me bleeding for 2 weeks just so I could have some fun and as soon as they wore off I began bleeding again. I have had 2 days clear without pills so I thought it would be safe to try sex but that started me bleeding again. How long do they recommend to wait to see if it settles down before going to see your doctor again? because Since having my daughter 14 weeks ago I have had 2 weeks and 2 days with no bleeding and I am getting seriously frustrated now but luckily I have an understanding partner.

I think its 6 months.
I have Nexplanon too, since June 2013 and have bleed for 15 days since then so I guess it works differently for everyone.
Had your post-natal bleeding speed before you had the implant put in?
I only ask as a friend bled for almost 20 weeks after giving birth
