Copper coil - are lighter periods normal?

I had a copper coil (TT380 slimline) fitted 3 months ago and my periods have got longer (6-7 days instead of 3-4), which from what I've read is pretty normal, but rather weirdly (given the leaflet and doc's advice re side effects) my periods have got lighter - and they weren't particularly heavy before.

All seems a bit odd. Anyone had a similar experience?

Yep, that sounds like me too.
Mine is a slimline T something or other also.

I've had it for nearly 3 years now and in the last couple of months, my periods seem to have become slightly more "normal" for me but prior to that they were much much lighter and I'd say mine were medium to heavy before.

Thanks, that's helpful. Of course the day after I wrote the OP, it got heavier. Anyway I guess general gist from what I have read is that it changes them a bit, heavier or lighter, generally longer, more spotting etc all considered normal. I did mention it to the doc at the 12 week check and after doing a pregnancy test (negative) (!) she said to consider myself one of the lucky ones… so, I shall do that! Thanks for the reply, it's reassured me.
