I am considering getting the copper coil as condoms dont seem to be the best solution for me.

Is there anything else i can try?

Not unless getting pregnant wouldn't be the end of the world. There's the diaphragm which has a higher failure rate than condoms plus it would be hard to find someone who could fit it for you and they'd probably only do it if there was a good reason why you couldn't use all other forms of contraception. There's also natural family planning where you abstain or use condoms during your most fertile period which again has a pretty high failure rate.

Femidom? (do they still make these?)

Yea they still make femidoms.
Also new product called nuvaring you wear next to cervix for 3weeks - it is hormonal but localised rather than systemic (note some coils have hormones in too).

Withdrawal method when used properly is 98%effective according to recent scientifc study.

I used persona (a monitor with test sticks) sucessfully for years in conjuction with natural family planning (temp taking, mucus checking, cervix checking etc. Is also thought to be 98% but again higher possibility of user failure. Get taught by a proper nfp teacher (many clinics have teachers).

Remember cyclically there is a "relatively infertile period" (period- ovulation" and absolutely infertile period (2days post ovulation - next period" where unprotected sex in the latter is less risky but obviously the trick is recognising when ovulation occured. Get it wrong and uh oh!

After we've had DC2 we plan on combo of breastfeeding, condoms, withdrawal method and NFP. So watch this space for unexpected DC3 ;)

shout if you need more help - I do this stuff for a living.

Thankdeka, where can you get the equipment for monitoring? Is it very expensive and do you have to have had a period to do it? I have just had dd2 (11 weeks) and im feeding and dont like the idea of pills or hormone implants.
