(4 Posts)I am thinking of getting the Family Tree Maker 2009 Platinum (via Tesco clubcard vouchers naturally ).
I have already got a basic family tree program on my laptop, but it's a bit rubbish at charts etc. Mind you it was on £9.99 so I can't complain - it's served me well.
I have also got a tree on Genes Reunited which has a lot of "notes" on it - references to census's and occupations etc. If I export this Gedcom file to my new Family Tree Maker program, will the notes go with it? I have got nearly 3000 individuals on the Genes Reunited tree and definitely don't want to start rewriting all the information!
Hellooooooooooooooooooooooo
Anyone??????????????
I don't use FTM, but if the Gedcom export includes the notes then FTM will almost certainly import them.
You can check whether the notes get exported by exporting the Gedcom from GR and having a look at it in a text editor like Wordpad.
Right thanks for that.
I never thought of doing that.
