Thank you only a passing thought, wondering which ancestors passed on the familial Mediterranean fever.
Well, amyloidosis is a very rare disease, it's impossible to tell. There wouldn't have been the diagnostic knowledge available in 1925 that we have now, electron microscopes etc.
Perhaps repost in Chat, there could be a specialist who would help you.
Do you think it might possibly have been nephrotic syndrome (caused by amyloidosis)?

It's a historic name for a group of kidney diseases, now would be classified as acute or chronic nephritis.
