Volunteer Pioneer Group Leaders Wanted in Peterborough area!
About the opportunity
Do you enjoy working with children or young people? Are you passionate about big ideas like equality, the environment and co-operation?
Woodcraft Folk is an educational movement for children and young people, designed to develop self-confidence and activity in society, with the aim of building a better, fairer world.
We are looking for volunteers to lead a new Pioneer group in Peterborough, which will cater for young people from 10 to 12 years old, and meet weekly during school term times.
At Pioneers, our young members develop new skills and learn about the world through games, crafts, debates, drama and outdoor activities.
What are they looking for?
Woodcraft Folk thrives on the talents, commitment and enthusiasm of volunteers from many different backgrounds. We are looking for people who can work co-operatively as part of a small team of volunteers to deliver fun and creative activities inspired by Woodcraft Folk's aims and principles.
You will need to be able to communicate effectively with other volunteers and with young people, and to keep our groups a safe and supportive environment for our young members.
You will need to be available to help with group activities that take place on a weekday evening, whether you can volunteer every week or only a few times a term.
Practical considerations
Our groups run a programme that includes a mix of indoor and outdoor sessions.
Potential volunteers must be able to follow Woodcraft Folk's Aims and Principles and our Safeguarding Policy.
Volunteers will be required to become full members of Woodcraft Folk.
