We've managed to fill up the March thread, so I give you April's, around 10 hours early. Don't use it all up at once!
The music threads are for learners of ALL ages and stages, including beginners and adult learners.
My kids Goo (11) and Rara (8) break up from school today, thank goodness. Rara is off sick at the moment, in any case, but they both need a break. They did their music exams this week. Goo got a distinction for her Grade 7 Flute, and we are awaiting the results of Rara's Grade 1 Clarinet, plus a couple of my pupils. They will probably come on my birthday - the ABRSM ones often do.
Next term, we have a big community concert at the local high school - all the feeder schools take part. Goo could do Grade 7 Recorder and/ or Grade 4 Piano, but I don't think she wants to. Rara is doing Grade 3 Cello. My Year 6 Recorders have been asked to play in the local Festival gala concert, and I'm sure there will be primary school leavers' performances too.

Hope Rara continues to feel better waffle. I'm mum to ds 12 who plays trumpet and dd 9 who is sort of learning piano and loves to sing. Not quite the end of term for us here as dd has a show and festival tomorrow , but nearly there!! I'm hoping for a quieter term next term though there are rumours that ds might do grade 7 trumpet (we shall see) . Ds is looking forward to his NCO course this holiday ( and we are looking forward to a little holiday in Dorset we've never been ) 
Beyond dd does the same, starts making mistakes in her A piece few days before exams. Last time it was literally in the practice room before the exam. Incidentally somehow though she manages to pull together and gets the highest mark it it also. 
We're in the piano lesson now and dd is killing summertime. In a bad way. Hopefully she'll manage to learn it as her teacher is starting to panic also now.

I have a 9 yrs old in yr4 who plays violin and piano. Piano now is her 1st as we have been struggling finding a suitable violin teacher.
Fleur: a week break only playing something fun, something she knows then come back. We did over cook with our g1 that we thought it was a guaranteed distiction, in the end she was bored learning it too long and didnt play it as nicely as usual. I listened to Summertime few days ago the first time, it is a beautiful piece, no wonder she likes it.
Bugger. Just tried to post on the old thread! Thank you for asking everyone but today did not go well 
she made mistakes where she had never made them before. She was very tearful when she came out but held it together in the room. Shame as at yesterday's mock she was on for a merit. If she passes it'll be because of the nice dress

Prada: fingers crossed for the best possible outcome. Your comment about the dress made me remember we did really badly with NCO last year(2 weeks practice, no performance experience, suddenly out of tune and all wet and late for the audition, no rehearsal with the accompanist, I knew it didnt go well). There was although a small hope that with a beautiful sparkling dress and an Asian dedicated pale skin face, long hair and her quirky playing style then they might find other thing in her. We failed to impress though hahaha(we truly not deserve it) however the comment did say she plays with a style(might be due to many hours laying on the sofa playing)
Fleur: there are ups and downs, downs moment now might be for ups later.

O..M..G..! April thread starting in March-this is quite a change! I felt guilty not to keep up with the threads, now I feel that it was a good thing - if I were commenting-we would have to move to April thread a week ago!
Thanks again Waffle for starting a new thread and my April resolution will be to read April thread regularly :)
I have dd9 violin/piano/recorder and ds6 - violin and is starting piano after Easter break. We are waiting for dd's violin exam results.
Grade 5 theory for dd in June and grade 1 violin for my baby 
- cannot believe this! 
Interestingly, my dd took her grade 1 violin at 6.3 and so will ds....
