Cricket helmet help!

We've been told by 13yo DSs cricket club he needs a new helmet as regulations have changed. I think the BS no' should have 2013 after it...DSs helmet has BS.......1998 (even though we only bought it last year)

I could shove a junior ball though the helmet guard, so am quite happy to buy a new one, especially as he will be playing for the under 15's team once a week, and I don't know if he''ll come up against any amazing bowlers.

I'm not sure I can get to an actual shop before next week. Do any on-line sellers tell you the BS no' of the helmets?

Hi, just upgraded my daughter's helmet for the same reason. If you don't have time to get him fitted up physically then online stores like JD Sports have live chat support that should be able to verify?

Well, having gone far and wide today trying on helmets with no luck mostly because DS refuses to wear Slazenger Angry I've ordered one from Serious Cricket who say they do conform to new standards. Decathlon were selling a helmet with the old BS number.

I've paid extra for next day delivery and am now £50 poorer. The match had better not be rained off!!!

So the helmet arrived...faulty.

I've returned it. DH took the afternoon off work to procure a helmet just in time for the match, and DS is happy.

I, however am not happy, as I had to pay £12 to return the helmet and Serious Cricket are ignoring my emails, even though they received the returned faulty helmet (the adjustment wheel on the back didn't work) last Saturday.
