Dd has asked for gymnastic presents for her 7th birthday. Apart from a club leotard and shorts is there anything she could use at home without being dangerous?
(She would like a beam and bars but I need a lottery win and mansion first)

How about this?

You could get her a crash mat so she could do some rolls, handstands etc at home safely. You can get them in lots of different sizes on amazon. I gave a 7 yr old DD who does gymnastics!

Crash mat is a great idea, storage mY be tricky but maybe some fold up?
Isa. Door bar just for pull ups? She would love a bar to practice pullovers etc but is not too tall for side of swing that she used last summer.

Our friends have a door bar and do somersault s with crash mat under, can put it at any height I think.

Anything here?

This lady does a good line in personalised, gymnastic themed canvases

Sparkly/lamee leotard and shorts?

Love the canvasses thanks.
Might consider a door bar then but worried dd2 will injure herself.
Thanks for all ideas so far.

Trampette and crash mat would be fun, also an exercise mat, perhaps handguards (depending on how much bar work she does)?

There is a really nice series of books about gymnastics but can't remember the name of it off the top of my head.
How about some acro bits like a ribbon. My sister and I used to spend hours doing ribbon routines in the garden. There are some amazing videos on you tube for inspiration.

I'm getting her hand guards, new club leotard and t shirt, new shorts, crash mat of some sort.
She has read gym stars books was it those?
She doesn't want ribbons she doesn't use those.

I had a door bar when I did gymnastics - used it for pull ups, leg lifts etc - loved it!

Thank you for your help.

These are pretty safe and small to store away. They are really good for practicing straddle levers and handstands, and excellent for improving upper arm and core strength.

I agree with
preferthedog we have screwed ours to a base board though to make them more stable
