My DD has just signed up for this. We only heard about it by chance, but I think it's fab, and think all parents of 16 and 17 year olds should know about it.

Do you think this would be suitable for a 17 year old with ASD? I'm keen to increase my DS's confidence in social situations and this seems like a good scheme.

I'm sorry, I don't know enough about ASD or the programme to answer that.
Best thing would be to find a scheme near you and phone and ask.
NB you can enter your postcode on the website to find a scheme near you, but the Swindon scheme my DD is going on is not advertised.
We came across it by chance - I can't think why it's not better publicised.

DD went two years ago, had the time of her life, it was fantastic. She become a board member last year and a mentor. Shes off on Raleigh International in October for three months, inspired by NCS. I cant recommend it enough. (shes still very much in touch with the organisers of our area, they have helped her enormously with regard to Raleigh)

YDdraigGoch they do go into the schools here in London, but I agree its not advertised very well, and of course we only hear about it if our child is interested and tells us after school.

Lifeison, one of the boys in DDs group had ASD, not a problem at all, I would give them a call.

Thanks Onestep. I'll tell DD. she's understandably a bit nervous. She's quite shy, so I'm hoping this will give her a bit of confidence.
The programme looks fab.
