I've bought the first Muzzy set so my daughter (and I) can learn some Spanish before the holidays, but wondered if anyone has used it successfully and how you implemented it. Thank you.

We have the french one - I found it good for my vocab blush boys enjoyed it but I think unless you speak it or reinforce it in some way its a bit meaningless, obviously going to the actual country will help grin its fun to watch

Bumping as I've been interested in Muzzy. DD is just 5, is she too young? What age are yours? I like the idea of her learning language while she'#s still at the optimum age for it. I also quite fancy learning a language with her. I was always rubbish at them blush . . . started too old!

We've tried the German and French one and found it terrible. The sound quality as well as the story line is so bad that we returned ours. The kids did find the characther Muzzy quite entertaining, but for the price you're better off buying Spanish dvds or cds from amazon in Spain, for example.

We used to watch Muzzy at school! (in French) Rubbish at teaching the language, but quite entertaining all the same! Just watch your DVDs in French/Spanish/Whatever with UK Subtitles, for the same results

Reading the blurb for Muzzy you'd think that your child would be fluent practically instantly.
I spent a fortune getting the French one on eBay years back - it has gathered dust ever since. It really wasn't particularly effective.

Probably the biggest waste of money ever. Muzzy's voice is quite difficult to understand. (I generally find furry sesame street style monsters difficult to understand in other languages)

Not the first time I have been mislead by Gloria Hunniford.

Ok, thanks, think I'll be giving Muzzy a wide berth. Certainly can't afford to waste my money at the moment!
