at a bodypump class today we had to do press ups. i couldn't do the traditional ones and even the girlie ones on the step with bent knees just look nothing like what everyone else was doing!!my elbows just don't bend like they should, what am i doing wrong??(i am overweight, unfit and returning to exercise, btw. )
i can't do them!! my upper body strength is very poor!! i can do sit-ups etc but never ever do press ups!!!
it might just be your technique. it depends where you place your hands and how far apart they areyour instructor should have helped you, its not your fault
God no! Not me! But I can very successfully reach for a cup of tea and bend my elbow, over and over and over again, in the correct manner without injury!
I can do a press up. but am routinely humiliated by dds' chin ups. they do gymnastics and climbing and can do 8 or more chin ups. I can't do a single one
hmmm, glad i am not the only one who has poor upper body strength!maybe i need to grab one of the instructors and get them to give me a quick lesson on how to bend my elbows/place my hands etc..(hatwoman, i too am amazed by the power of my dcs and my 7 yr old ds's six-pack as opposed to my one-pack!)
