Have you seen dumbbells for sale anywhere?

I've been trying to supplement my dumbbell stash since March but they're either unavailable or stupid money.

Anybody seen anywhere that's selling them at a normal price? One chap on Facebook wants £200 for a pair of used, bog standard dumbbells.

I bought mine off Amazon. They were out of stock but you could pre-order. They took a month to arrive. £18 per pair, Amazon own brand.

I haven't looked what they have available but Wolverson fitness seem to have dumbbells and kettlebells. DH kitted out the garage in Feb (completely by chance!) and most of the kit is from them.

Aldi had some in yesterday. Try online?

Can you link them? All the ones I can see on there just say out of stock with no option to order or it's individual sellers charging the earth.

I've tried Wolverson. They have 1kg dumbbells or 47kg dumbbells. Nothing in between!

What weight are you looking for

I have 4.5kgs, 5kgs, 7kgs and 14kgs.

I need some inbetween weights so ideally 6kgs and 9 or 10s.

I had a pair of 9s using plates but had to use the plates to make the 14s. All of the others are neoprene single units. I'm struggling to get in a complete or challenging workout with the gaps.

My 5s were from Aldi years ago. They're great.

Just before Christmas I bought a set (2.5, 5, 7.5, 10 and 12.5) from here - www.rechargefitness.co.uk/dumbbells
You can set up alerts (and if you message they can give you restock dates).
And I sold a smaller older set on Facebook marketplace, so maybe keep an eye out there too?

I've also noticed lack of availability - hopefully its just a short term thing re New Year & lockdown

Lidl. It's their buy of the week.

Lidl only have very light dumbbells and OP is looking for much heavier ones

All weights equipment has been in short supply since last March and the first lockdown

Nah. Definitely been going on since last March when the gyms closed. DH had an alert on his phone today with a link to an article suggesting a good investment in today's climate is... Dumbbells!

I saw light weights in Aldi yesterday and only one set left (grabbed by somebody as I walked past). I've done my daily check of FB marketplace today and two people are selling brand new £8.99 Aldi dumbbells for £75.

I've found some 6ks for preorder and delivery in late Feb. Still inflated in price but better than most places I've seen. Still need some to bridge the gap from 7 to 14 though.

I feel your pains OP. I need 12 and 15kg dumbbells and there's none to be found. It's frustrating.

The Aldi sale was good, they had decent slam balls for a good price. Those buggers are hard to get as well.

@AcornAutumn Argos looks like it has stock but it never does. When you try and buy, they're never available for delivery or collection

I keep getting ads for slam balls oddly enough. I've never used one. I have just bough myself rollerskates and a pull up assist so I'm repping more on pull ups before failure (as well as doing them minus assist and to failure) and am skating for core/cardio variety. I did get an Aldi adjustable speed rope to replace my ancient one too and it's pretty good.

I love my slam balls. It's my favourite tool Grin

Sounds like you've got a canny set up, going on. I hope you find some dumbbells. Would kettlebells not be a good alternative? They're pretty easy to use for a lot of moves. Slightly easier to find also.

I do have some kettlebells but single weights obviously and I'm following Liift4 again and need dumbbells really. I could adapt but I'm seeing real gains and want to build a bit.

@BayandBlonde I can't find anything on their website?

Kettlebells are just as effective as dumbbells. Just used differently.

There are some dumbbells here. Bit far for me to collect though, not sure where you are.
