My DP used to do park runs, but is unable to because of a knee injury.

I go for the occasional jog but nothing serious or regular, anyway DP keeps wanting me to try a parkrun, says I'll love it and never look back!

Tried it last week, it was okay but to be honest I hate being forced to run with other people!! I said I'd try it and I have. I'll do another one when I'm ready, but he's just come into bedroom saying come on get up
it's park run time!!! I said no, it's very windy, cold and rainy.....!!! He's not amused now 😫
Why force it on me?!!! AIBU should I just do it, maybe I'll grow to love it?!!

Ugh my DP is like that. Made me run for ages and I kept getting plantar fasciitis as I’m clearly too fat. Eventually he got fed up of my injuries and now doesn’t suggest running. So i advise you to develop some heel or shin pain.

Its really weird for him to force you into it. Can't he see that you and he are not identical and have different likes?

I also hate running with people. Enjoy a gentle jog in my own though.

That's it, I like a gentle jog with my tunes on.
It's not like I'm sat doing nothing!

It's not necessarily caused by being fat. I'm borderline underweight and developed posterior tibial tendonitis (similar to pf) from increasing my running too much too quickly.

Fuck running, I just go to the gym every day instead. It's warm and dry with toilets and showers and you don't have to carry everything on you!

Parkrun is the only time I run with other people :)

I'm like you. I like running 5k on my own, listening to my own music, going at my own pace. Did a Parkrun and felt pleased with myself that I did it, but realised I dislike running with a crowd of people - most of whom are faster than me - and although everyone was really lovely that's ticked my box now. I probably won't do another one.

You've tried it and you didn't like it....does he want you to do it because he can't or because he thinks you'd like/benefit from more regular exercise? I run fairly regularly tho it isn't my main exercise and did PR a year ago. I did like it, lovely atmosphere, but haven't done it since because the whole thing takes longer, time doesn't always work, I sometimes want to run longer distances, prefer other routes etc. That's no skin off anyone else's nose.

I actually did the PR again this week and it was okay. Once the bottle neck has cleared I just put my tunes on and went at my own pace.

I'm trying to get fit anyway so I've just been for a run on my own, no one else!!

That'll keep the OH quiet 😂😂

Suggest he gets on a bike...every time he talks about you doing park run. Cycling can be fine with his knee

Find an activity that he doesn't like and nag him constantly to do it. Only Because you know what's best for him obviously.

Obsessed is when he starts making you wake up,at 5am so you can travel 90 miles to get a rare lettter.

And no, he's not suddenly interested in having a weekend exploring the historic naval yard in Portsmouth, he wants the only Q in England.

Caravanning in Wales means the Full Ponty
