If you run, do you really enjoy it?

I don't enjoy the run, but the afterglow and the pride make it worthwhile.

Recovering from an EMCS at the moment so no real exercise.
Never liked running, usually did just 20min here and there, usually on a thread mill and an incline to make it less boring.

My thing is weights, and maybe some plyometrics.

Love it for the time/ space on my own. Or with friends.
Running is good for the soul.

I hate running. I have never been able to keep it up. If you dislike running I would recommend that you find some other form of exercise that you enjoy that you can add to the mix. I go to pilates and yoga classes for core strength and mix it with some at-home circuit training and cardio workouts (youtube - there are loads so you never get bored). I can always face at least one of these and over the week the combination hits every part of my body and circulation. Running alone is not going to do much for your upper body or core.

Thing is I don’t think people ‘do’ running just for the exercise. I think it’s a combination of stuff...
Exercise
Getting out in the fresh air - in the country, city, park, wherever
The feeling AFTER the run - you always feel good!
The ‘high’ you sometimes get while running.
Social - running with friends is good
A ‘break’ from life - whether that’s work, parenthood, relationships, etc.

So to answer your question sometimes I find every step hard, but I NEVER regret going for a run but do regret not going.

yes enjoy it. Hard to get going, often, true.
Not as hard as it is to get swimming, though.
Starting swimming is a very grit-teeth affair for me.
By 30 minutes into a swim, swimming feels almost easy.
Similar with running, but more like 15 minutes in when it feels almost easy.

@OhDear2200 totally agree that you never regret a run, no matter how hard.
