After doing this in 2018 a new thread for new folk to join the 2019 challenge. Pick your target, log your miles and see what you can achieve whilst encouraging each other Smile Anyone want to join me?

My goal in 2018 was run a 1000km I didn’t meet it due to two lots of injury but have logged nearly 1500km of exercise in different forms including over 700k of running and 54km of swimming. I’d like to do more in 2019. What are your goals?

Placemarking for 1st Jan.

2018 saw me beginning my running purely as a promise to do something as I had never exercised before- I committed to 10 minutes a day. I have done more than 1500km at this point, which literally blows my mind as I was the least 'sporty' person ever. Anyone reading this thinking they'd love to do it but keep talking themselves out of it, honestly- if I can, anyone can. It's changed my life.

2019- I'm aiming for 1000 miles this year, so around 1600 km.
I'm running a half in April so I'd like to do at least 1 proper race of 10km + before then.
I need to sort my nutrition plan out as I have been dieting this year but now I need to maintain, so I want to have a proper look at that rather than just eating back my calorie defacing in cheese...

I've been waiting for this thread to pop up after having seen the end of the 2018 one.

At one year post partum, I've just completed 8 months of pelvic floor physio. I'm in the process of building my fitness up completely from scratch. Ive spent the last 4 months working out on a recumbent bike, and have now moved onto a brand new shiny upright stationary bike!

So my aim is 1000 "stationary" miles - hoping to progress to a real bike as my fitness increases.

Other general aims are to build more walking into my week, and carry on with Pilates classes, as they're definitely improving my core stability.

Interested to see other's goals!

Thanks for the new thread! I'm in for this again. I'm aiming for 1000 miles again. I'd like to do more of I can. Which will be 19 miles a week

I would love love love to walk 1600 miles if I can but I'd need to walk 30 miles a week to make that!

Can I join please. I'm aiming to run 1000km this year. I've been running for a few years but never manage to be consistent and I think it's why I end up with injuries. I have signed up for a few races for next year to keep me running (sensible idea) including a marathon (crazy idea!).

Great to see lots up for the challenge.
tailrunner ive struggled with long running injuries but found doing some strength training (squats, lunges, plank etc) has really helped in last few months, along with Pilates & swimming as x-training.

Thanks skimum99, I started Pilates in October and have also been swimming for the past month or so. I just need to add in some strength training but I'm not sure where to start. I have an injury prone knee and squats/lunges make it feel tight so I'm wary of them.

I'd be up for this. I'm recovering from an Achilles injury and need something to motivate me to get back out there. I'll aim for 1000km of running. How do you all measure it? Do you have a Garmin or similar?

Can I join I’d like to have a run swim target! I’ll cycle as well but have no idea what to put for that??? I’d like to hit 1000 miles for running and 250 miles for swimming. 2018 was a rubbish training year. Here’s to a much better 2019.

A good free way to track is to use an app like Strava or colour in tracker like these www.eagl-s.co.uk/free-download

Marking my place, I can't run or bike but want to get back into walking and swimming, just need to work out what distance would be feasible for me (due number 2 in April so need to take it easy for a while before/after that!)

I'll try til I get bored of logging it. I'll go for 1000km of any movement under my own steam Grin

I'm hoping to walk 1500 miles - would love to do more exercise (running/ bike etc) but after a year of terrible health, my main aim is just to feel better!

Keeping an eye on ebay though for any cheap fitness equipment that people are selling off.....

I am going to do a combo run/swim/cycling of 1000km but with a heavy lean to running! Moving to a VERY hot place so may well be challenging!

1000 miles running here.

I have been running for 7 years, done plenty of races - prob bout 30 10k and 7 half marathons (two more booked for the spring already) ...but I struggle with consistency as I seem to get injured just when things are going really well. So, strength training also a goal.
