If you have a watch that tracks the route etc which one do you have?

I have a Garmin Forerunner 15 . It works fine for tracking walks/runs/cycles, also have a step counter. The battery only lasts about 3 hours with GPS in though, which meant it kept going flat on longer rides. I still use the watch for running, but now is a Garmin Edge 820 for long rides. This is a handlebar mounted console thing, navy useful features.

Thank you.

I will check out Garmins.

I have a Fitbit but it just doesn't have what I want Smile

DH also has a Garmin but I'm not sure what model. He says it's good.

Forerunner is what DH has. There are many models.

Actually I got it wrong, it's a TomTom. He says it was cheaper but does what he needs.

I have a garmin 735XT and I love it. It’s a triathlon watch as I have tri aspirations (run and cycle lots but swim like a brick). I used to have a garmin vivoactive which was also good.

If you don’t want to splash out on a watch you can always just use strava on your phone when you go cycling. the basic account is free and will track time and speed and also show you a map of where you’ve been. It also has what they call “segments” - these are great fun and allow you to see how you’ve done on certain routes compared with other people. It allows you to see how you improve over time and you get medals for beating your previous personal best :-) You can either use strava on its own (download the app and press go when you start your ride) or you can link it to your garmin account. I’ve only ever used garmin watches but I’m guessing other breeds of watch like Tomtom also talk to strava.

I use my Apple Watch with Strava. Records GPS, speed, lap times per km etc so does all I need as a non competitive cyclist who commutes to work a few days a week and weekend rides for fun.

I have the forerunnner which is better for competitive racing. I’ve pretty much replaced this now with my Apple Watch because I only commute to work and go on long-ish rides on the weekend.
