Running socks that don't go tight in the wash

Mine always start off lovely and soft but now they're tight and sore after about 5k of running. I have bunions so I think my toes may bunch when they land and the socks don't help.
Any ideas?

I love Hilly socks, but they're a bit £. Are you washing your socks at the suggested temp?

I hate running socks. They are horrible to put on, shrink and leave back no my heel exposed to trainers.

I wear hiking socks. My fabe at moment are by darn tough.

I wash them at 20 or 40. They are Karrimor which I think has variable quality. Will look at Hilly and Darn. Thx

My hilly ones also shrank badly, as did Nike. More Mile were slightly better.

My problem is that I throw them in the tumble drier rather than picking them out to dry naturally Blush

I love Hilly too, and they stop blisters. My three pairs are still fine after a year.

I rate Hilly and Thurloe. Try using less detergent, but I confess to shoving mine in the tumble dryer. Also Hilly piss me off by charging more for pink socks.

I have Hilly twin skins which I really like (didn't know about their costly pinkification, as the shop I got them from didn't stock pink ones)

I have a pair of boring black 2XU knee length ones for if my lower extremities show sight of crankiness.

But currently I really like Stance - I have a Hawaiian flower print pair (much worn by the men in my running club) and some Star Wars ones.

I don't like my hilly twinskins that much. Too think. I love my wrightsock coolmesh ii's though. Expensive and tricky to get hold off in the UK though. But you can get them from run and become.
