Gym routine

I've just started going to the gym to improve my strength (not really to lose weight although a few pounds lighter wouldn't be bad) and cardio fitness. What do others do in regards to time of day, what you eat beforehand and after? I normally go for 30min before lunch and have some protein for lunch like scrambled egg on toast. I'd like to know what others do to see if there's any tips. Do I need a protein shake?!

I go generally after school drop off. I have breakfast at about 7.30am (as that's what time I get to it rather than by design...).

I do HIIT/circuits/strength workouts (mix of heavy weights and not that heavy) and also Body Combat.

What strength training are you doing? You may/may not benefit from the likes of protein shakes. I very occasionally have them but prefer to eat normal food now. Eggs feature a lot! I've just started using My Fitness Pal to get a better idea of my intake of macros.

I either go first thing before work (6am) and so don't eat but just have a black coffee. Or I go at night (7pm) and eat when I get home. I'm low carbing so have eggs in the morning and a protein shake or a normal meal in the evenings. I go for 1.5 hours, 4-5 times a week and do cardio and strength training.

Not sure if that's actually answered any of your questions there!

I do two 6am HIIT session, eat after, or just have a protein shake as I’m usually not that hungry. Do two late classes at 730 and 815pm and eat something light after - eating before makes me feel sluggish and sometimes like I want to throw up!
