Any that interest you!

What have you done before, what did you like/not like about them?

How much time do you think you'll have?

Do you want to play in a team do something as an individual?

Do you want something with a social aspect?

I hated Sports at school, and only started exercising as an adult due to peer pressure (EVERYONE I worked with belonged to a gym or ran or whatever, and it was very much a case of odd one out).

Over the years, I’ve run (this is the one I dip in and out of, I don’t enjoy it that much but appreciate the convenience of it, especially when travelling), Bodypump (love it), spinning (urgh, not for me), outdoor cycling (Good but scary traffic), Zumba (fun), yoga (Love Love Love), HIIT/circuits (like for quick results, also see a PT fortnightly which is lots of circuits), tennis (enjoy but always a problem getting timings right for partners).

I’m not one for team sports really, and don’t really like the nightmare of trying to coordinate diaries with other people. Live rurally, so no gym nearby, pretty self reliant but does make for pretty runs / cycles. Surprisingly we do have a yoga studio in our village, so I’ve signed up to that and have fallen in love. BUT it doesn’t work me hard enough, so it’s a supplement rather than my main activity.

Beach volleyball is fun ( make sure you have a team you can laugh with!)
Boot camp ( I started when I was 40)
Swimming ( have always swam but need to get back into it).
I love all 3 equally.

I only learnt to swim as an adult. I did very well in a swimming race yesterday. :)
