What's the best Pilates DVD or online Pilates workout?

Really want to attend classes but can't afford it at the moment so just wondered if anyone could recommend a decent DVD/online pilates workout or site? There are so many, it's a bit of a minefield and I don't know enough about it to know what looks good or not!
TIA :)

I'm interested in the answer too! For the same reason.

ive been doing Winsor pilates for years. I feel it the next day. my ex partner used to laugh and say I was faking it until I made him do it..... soon shut him up.
you can find the work outs on you tube but for some of the routines you will need a pilates ring. available on ebay etc. ive had a look and there is one on ebay with the dvd and ring for £10 + £3 p&p.

hope that's any help.

Thank you @happyfrown! I will look it up. have you seen good results (as well as the painful after effects?!)

yes ive had 3 kids and it really helps with pelvic floor, I know some people suffer with weak pelvic floor muscles after birth. its brilliant for core strength too. it works differently for every one, for example - when I was going gym I felt bulky (I wasn't) but my legs grew with the weight machines. pilates tones and keeps you lean. I prefer pilates to going gym as im not sweaty and out of breath.
try this, its not best quality - its old! but I still do it.

as with any exercise make sure you do the moves correctly (took me a while to master some of pilate moves properly) bad form can do more damage than good. dont lose form to make the move easier just follow the person doing the easier option, go slow and work up.
your glutes will be burning half way through that link Wink

I usually watch a new routine through first before attempting to do it. that way I get an idea of what to do, it looks so easy when im just watching it. good luck hope you get on well.

Please be careful doing online pilates etc
I started a DVD for back pain, thought I was doing it right
I saved up and had a one on one session with an amazing Pilates teacher just to double check I was doing it right...
It was completely wrong and if I had carried on I could have caused real serious damage
He said most of his students start doing an online at home DVD type thing, cause problems and it takes him months to correct it!
I now go weekly, it's expensive but worth every single penny
I also now practice at home twice a week but because I go to the session with a proper instructor I know what I'm doing now
Please please try to go for even one session so you get the basics!
