Hi all

I'm probably getting ahead of myself, but here goes!

I'm doing C25K and have signed up for a 10K run in the autumn. I've got decent trainers, sports bras and leggings but my tops seem to ride up and I don't know what to do with my phone (which I use for Spotify and the running app), and haven't got anywhere to put my key!

Can anyone recommend decent tops/vests and tell me what you do with your phone and keys?! I don't mind spending a bit, but not a fortune.

Thanks

I probably should have added, I'd rather shop online and I'm a UK12.

I have a running belt from sports direct which is perfect for phone and keys.

Now I tend to use t shirts from races but have had some from Asics in the past which fitted me well

You can get an armband for your phone and key for less than a tenner from Amazon.

Start Fitness has a good selection of running clothes at reasonable prices. They are online. Maybe try longer, loose tops?.

I just hung my key round my neck and held my phone!

I either layer in winter or loose vest if it is warmer
Key under pot plants
I don't take a phone for short runs. Longer ones in a bumbag along with map, compass and emergency jelly beans. I also put gloves, hat, waterproofs and a thin primaloft in if the weather is minging. If you are on the road / in a park that might be overkill.

Thanks, I think I'll get a running belt - some cheap ones on amazon.

Would love some more suggestions for sports clothing online.

Karrimor running leggings, shorts and long-sleeve tops have little zip-up pockets for keys. You can buy their stuff online from Sports Direct.

I also really like Tesco's active wear range and have some nice long tops from there. It's online here.

sports direct sell loads online.

Keys in my bra or sometimes in my hands. I use a tiny fold phone just for runs, I don't need any other type of phone for runs (it's only for emergencies). Fold phone just about fits in tiny pocket on my lycra shorts/leggings.

I've got a little pocket in my Primark running leggings, perfect for a key but I think a belt sounds great. Tesco do some nice exercise gear and the tops were quite long. I also had some nice tops from Debenhams.

I always buy running tights with a zip pocket on the back, they are big enough for an iPhone and a key. I can't get on with armbands. I like dhb tights (from wiggle), they also have a side mesh pocket big enough for a gel or some jelly beans. I wear under armour t shirts also from wiggle. Don't ride up at all and very flattering.

Keys, phone and inhaler go in a bumbag.

Usually wear a Nike top and those are fine, but I'm short.

Possibly stupid suggestion, but have you tried going up a size. I seem to remember having a couple of brands that were smaller than I expected and they did ride up.

Don't bother with a cheap phone holder if you have an iPhone; imo they're not fully compatible and it's just annoying. I have a Nike armband which is around £18 from John Lewis but worth it.

Can you get running leggings with a pocket for your key? I have some Nike leggings with a small zipped pocket in the back which is plenty big enough for a door key.

For tshirts, baggy is best for comfort - Aldi actually have great technical tshirts in their special buys. I wear the men's... buy a size up in a woman's tshirt, I can't stand tshirts riding up! If you do a 10k chances are you'll get a finishers tshirt too Smile

I bought some Ron hill Lycra leggings from Amazon for approx £30 (size 14, my usual size and great fit), they don't ride down over my tummy when running which is great. They have a very small zipped pocket for a key. Would definitely recommend, best leggings I have found. (Sorry just realised you weren't asking for leggings recommendations!!)

I have the Buddy Pouch which is well worth the £20 I paid. I can fit in an iPhone, keys, money and a protein bar! Doesn't move or bounce. Brilliant.

I've just bought a couple of Under Armour tops, I love them. I've got loose fit ones and v necked as I'm busty so high neck looks odd. They're a nice length and lightweight, and keep their shape. Got mine in DW 2 for £20 (not online though).

I've recently upgraded to a cheap flip belt style belt through Amazon. I liked the Ronhill one before, but I was putting too much in and the final straw was when the park run cards fell out and I had to climb over barbed wire to retrieve them! (I keep them on me for ID/ ICE number)

I don't like wearing a belt so I wear trail tights or shorts to run in - they generally have a couple of decent size pockets that will fit an iPhone plus some smaller gel pockets and an even smaller internal key pocket. Alternatively you could thread your key onto your laces or loop it on a hairband around your bra strap.

I buy all my running stuff from the Nike Factory as I live close to an outlet (and have lovely friends who give me discount!). All of the leggings have a zip pocket on the back so I put my key in there. I have an armband that I bought off Amazon, which I've had to cut a hole in the front due to having an iPhone 7 with it's stupid false home button!

Now I'm running a half marathon I have nowhere to put gels I am looking at getting a belt.
