Yumy forgot to ask about the back, hope its better now. I'm always very scared of back pain having had a slipped disc in the past but I'm assuming no need is good news

I found you. New thread. Excellent. I can't believe we're on thread 5 - that's a LOT of beachbody chat.

That's great re the recovery workouts reastie. I bet it feels good to be back.

My DH is used to me doing workouts on holiday. It was when I explained I'd be bringing the agility ladder, skipping rope and weights that he looked a bit Confused.

Did plyo tonight. Struggled as feel ok but still have a horrible stuffed up nose and cough so felt quite out of puff.

How's your back poppy?

Hi all
Hope everyone's OK. I have had a quick read but will catch up properly when I can.
This whole working lark is messing my whole routine up Grin although I am enjoying being back at work.
Did w3r2 of c25k. Next week my aim is to bring back in my workouts at home now my knee has stopped niggling, think I'll do hip hop abs for few weeks before t25 tho

Woo hoo Thread 5! Pops open champagne

Tsoto great news about your knee. Work and some runs with a young baby is good going well done.

Great news Reastie, I am so glad to hear that, fingers crossed for recovery plan.

Glad you are better too Purple...I love it that you are bringing all your gear on hol. I have never done that but it is something I aspire too. Sadly I may be too lazy.

I tried to do a kettlebell workout but it made back worse ;/ any way hopefully nothing too serious and I am now resting for a couple of days and probably weight free next week so lots of air squats and lunges instead.

Purple I remember I was doing p90x when we went to the Isle of Wight and I lugged all my weights in the boot of the car and dh was moaning how much they were weighing the car down!

I can't wait until my run tomorrow I just can't wait. I'm just worried I won't be able to stop at 20 minutes. It I really must make myself!

Yummy sounds like weights might not be a good plan until the back sorts itself out.

Tsoto work can be so annoying like that, grr.

Hi everyone! Purple well done on doing your workout on holiday! I did insanity on holiday. Luckily we were moved to the ground floor and I didn't piss off the neighbours 😊
Glad you are enjoying work Tsoto. I tried hip hop abs once but didn't like it. I feel so stiff when dancing. I'm convinced childbirth buggered up my lower back. Honestly those tucking movements are so unnatural to me.
Yummy sorry about your back. Well done for listening to your body and resting.
Reastie that is funny about the weights. I did that too once when I went to visit my mum. It really made the drive heavy.
I moved to phase 2 of p90x2. You can spend 3-5 weeks on the first phase and I think I progressed enough coupled with the fact I get bored easily. I like to keep things varied. I did shoulders and arms today and can feel already that I will be sore tomorrow. Happy weekend everyone!

Well done for getting out running tso. Great that you're enjoying being back. I can't say I felt that way when I went back!

Am cross as feel ill again. Argh. Now have horrible cold. Prob won't feel well enough to work out today and I'm really frustrated.

Reastie · 25/02/2017 14:43

Purple I'm frustrated on your behalf. Hope you feel better soon.

Disappointed well done on phase two. I just remember finding p90x2 so difficult with all the core stuff I think I ended out giving up on some workouts.

Did first run in a month today. Enforced slow 20 minute run but better than nothing. Unfortunately my knee didn't feel good so might need to hold back completely on running still, but at least I'm back to exercise, albeit gentle and gradual.

Hi remember me? Grin
I was on the last couple of threads then buggered off to do Trinity! I'm about to finish my second cycle (with a few weeks off along the was for illness and Christmas) and I'm completely sold on weight training now.

Next week is my last Trinity week and is contrast week, so I'll probably do Insanity for my workouts.

After that, I'm going to carry on with the eating plan, and I've ordered Body Beast! Has anyone here tried any of the workouts? I'm all excited as I love new Beachbody parcels! :)

Hope everyone is well and not too injured or ill Flowers

Hello Eleanor, good to hear from you.

I've got beast but am waiting to be injury free which judging by me may be quite some time before I can start it.

I remember you starting trinity but I can't really remember what it exactly involved, but I'm guessing lots of weights!

Trinity is tracking macros along with a weight training programme - and has worked better for me than anything else I've tried (and I've tried pretty much everything) and sorted out my metabolism! I'm currently on 1750 calories a day and STILL losing fat! I'd do another cycle if I could afford it but I think I know the basics enough to carry on by myself now.

Hoping your injured bits are less injured soon Reastie!

Welcome back Eleanor! Really interesting about Trinity glad its worked for you. I have beast I am planning to try it with Disappointed would be great if all 3 of us could overlap on it a bit. I am doing 5:2 and hoping that will get me eating more. I keep looking up about macros but never seem to stick to them; I am trying to be stricter with money at the same time which is stopping me for really going for it with supplements etc and I really struggle to get enough protein in.

Hi Eleanor! Good to hear from you.
Do you go to gym for trinity? I could imagine it requires a lot of different weights/barbell etc

Also how cardio fit are you now? One of the things I like re insanity etc is that you end up being ridiculously fit. I could imagine that with more weights you'd feel less fit? I struggle to get the right balance between cardio and strength tbh. I think I should prob do more strength really. Having said that I'm still doing nothing as I have the cold that will NEVER go. It's been over a week now Sad. I had better get better soon.

Hi Purple - I just did Insanity and am still alive so I don't think my cardio has suffered too much! (I did the first one of the month one workouts, I had a curry and a couple of rums last night so didn't think my stomach could face a month 2 one! Grin ) I've been doing a cardio warm-up on the treadmill before my workouts, and contrast week every 4th week which is all cardio, so it's still there.

I've managed all the workouts at home - between us DP and I already had a good set of weights, and I've built up quite a kettle bell collection on the way too!

Hi Poppy - yay Body Beast buddies! Grin It's not here yet but I can't start it until next week anyway as I have to fit in another three cardio workouts!

hi Eleanor! I am going to be doing Body Beast in about 6 or 7 weeks when I have finished p90x2. I can't wait. I did Hammer and Chisel when it first came out and really liked it!

I thought the other thread was just really quiet Blush Anyway found you all now Grin

The secret site seems to have stopped working for quite a lot of the videos Shock couldn't get any of the 21df ones on tonight and most of the t25 ones were also down. Ended up doing Pyramid which was one of the few that did work - wanted a cardio one tonight though Confused hope it is just a blip!!

reastie glad you can start exercising again, remember to take it slowly though Wink

eleanor welcome back Smile Trinity sounds great but probably too hard core for me Grin

Hi to everyone else Smile

Eleanor - can you tell me what a typical trinity work out is so I can get a sense? It sounds really good and I tried to look on the website to find out more but I couldn't see anything which explained what exactly you do.

Still ill. Sad but now I discover that the secret site isn't working there is actually no point getting better as that's all I have whilst on hols to use for workouts (didn't think there was much point bringing all my asylum stuff with me as I felt so bad). It had better get fixed soon.

Hope everyone is well!

Body Beast is here! Grin A bit disappointed it only came in a bag instead of a nice chunky box like Insanity and T25, but those only become cat beds anyway.

I'm suffering a severe case of Insanity Calves at the moment - it gets me every time, so had yesterday off - going to attempt a month 2 workout today though.

Purple - the Trinity workouts are split into either upper and lower body or push and pull - so only half of you is broken at any one time! Grin

My last leg one was this - 5 sets of 7 goblet squats, 5 sets of 7 kettle bell good mornings (you hold a kettle bell behind your head and lean forwards with it), then a 4 supersets of skater squats followed by goblet squats, 4 sets of 8 romanian deadlifts, 4 sets of 8 suo deadlifts, and 4 sets of wall squats.
I use kettle bells for the squats and lunges.

The eating plan is tailored to your body type - the calories start high and slowly reduce so you don't hit a plateau, then eventually go back up again to either maintain or build more muscle. They ease you into the macro tracking gradually - so calories first, then calories and protein (the protein amount stays the same throughout), then the rest. The first two weeks all you have to do is cut out wheat, dairy, sugar and alcohol but not count anything - you can reintroduce those after though.

Feel better soon!

EleanorAbernathy · 01/03/2017 14:51

That should say sumo deadlifts, not suo - I have a sticky "m" key!

Purple hope you feel better soon, I know how rubbish it is but whilst you're off at least I don't feel like the only one down on exercise so I'm not such a loner on a workout thread despite lack of workouts!

Thermo you got me seriously worried there about the secret site

See Eleanor your workout list sounds really intimidating and scary to be but I bet if they did it as a beachbody DVD I'd do it and find it's far less scary than it sounds!

Haven't been checking this week after my run as disappointment set it after I had my step class booked for Monday and my shoulder ached a lot after the gentle step back to exercise so rested it again . Did 20 minute swim with float today so as not to move my arm and hoping for 25 minute gentle run tomorrow.

Weirdly my period is late. Since having dd in the past six years it has NEVER been late, if anything it's early. I'm pretty certain there should be no way I'm pregnant (unless it's an immaculate conception!) so I've been googling and turns out it could be a side effect of the steroid injection, which is annoying as my hormones make me feel weird at the best of times (when I stopped the pill even I had to go on medication for side effects and my body didn't get back to completely normal for a whole year) so I'm not looking forward to the coming days and weeks with how things go. I've also read online lots of people find they have very heavy and prolonged bleeding after a steroid injection. Great! The only good thing about af being late so far was I got to go swimming today which would have been my heavy day and I would have avoided swimming.

Three Insanities down - one to go! I've done the first two month two ones and my upper body strength is loads better now than when I did the whole programme.

I REALLY REALLY hate when that Anthony says "hurts so goooood!" and I tell him to fuck off every time I do that DVD!

I've not decided what to do for my 4th one yet as I think the other month 2 Insanity is a bit weird - may dust off Jillian's BFBM for a change, or even a double T25. :)

Reastie the Trinity workouts aren't scary when I do them, I do it whilst watching Judge Rinder or something and spend ages faffing around between exercises! Grin

Thanks for the trinity insight Eleanor. I like the sound of it. I think I'd need to invest in more weights tho so might have to park that for the time being. DH is already commented that our living room looks like a gym so don't want to make it worse!

Well done on the insanities. I like max cardio conditioning - is that the one you don't like? You could do the max sports training one instead?

Scary re your period reastie. I'd be terrified I was pregnant too! Steroids do really weird things - DH took them for something a while ago and it made him really loud and over enthusiastic. I was pleased when the course finished.

I'm still under the weather (have had a cough and sinusitis - yuk) but really want to do some exercise of some sort. Will park asylum for the time being. What do you all suggest - I want something 30mins, not too much cardio and not too tough to ease me back in. Was thinking a t25?
