Morning all!
Been lurking on these boards a while now but only very recently joined, hoping you can all give me some motivational tips..
I got into running last summer/autumn, quite enjoyed it, but as soon as the dark nights and cold weather turned up I stopped going out. Been meaning to start again since the New Year but so far, no!
How do you all find the motivation to go out when it's cold and dark? I don't have time on a morning due to DP starting time at work and having to take DSD to school before I go to work myself. I usually feel fairly motivated at lunch time at work, decide that 'tonight is the night' for the first run of the year, but when I leave work and it's dark and cold I just can't think of anything worse.
Going on holiday in a few months so had hoped that would be inspiration enough but hasn't managed to get me out so far. I love running to music but feel quite nervous about running in the dark with my headphones in, even though I'm just on the streets in my area and there's usually a few cars about (although there are some quieter streets I tend to use too).
How do you all go about it? Any warmer clothing you could recommend? Or is it just a case of giving myself a kick up the bum and getting this first run over and done with?!
