The newsest thread for all runners to chat and keep track of their miles. Everyone welcome for support, guidance and general running talk including very important kit choices Wink

Thank you cinners 11.3 today. I am fine until mile 9 and then it all goes to pot. Is it psychological do you think or actual fitness?

I always find miles 9-11 of a half feel hard & slow, then I see the 12 mile sign and perk up!

Ha! Yes, you're right. So I need to perhaps go easy on myself and have some faith I can do it Grin

Beautiful easy run in a cold snowy forest this morning. Managed to keep slow steady pace - slow is no problem on the hills! - and really enjoyed it.

Lovely long run this morning, still frosty but not slippery and lovely and sunny. Legs were knackered but I did it! 661.6

Little canicross run tonight, never done that route before. Would be nice to do it in daylight and actually see it. Was quite funny, we've done part of the route in reverse with another group of runners and both my dogs tried to turn up the track we would have come out of when we did it in reverse, quite clever I thought Smile

A quick 3 from me. Very boring too , but work is ridiculous and if I dont get out when I can, it won't happen.

I've crocked my leg again. Nothing badly wrong, and on the mend, but still feels too tight. But I've not been running for a week+ and am wondering what it'll feel like when I start again

Adding on all my January miles takes it to 687

Well done for getting out when it's busy stilllearnin!

That's rubbish AuntieStella, have you seen anyone about it?

Almost 8 miles from me, did most of my friends long run with her apart from her getting to mine and then home. My legs know I've done 21miles in 3 days today, don't know how all you loooooong milers do it! 694.8

Auntie Stella I hope your leg gets better soon Flowers
Cinners as long as you build up gradually you get used to it (so do your legs!) I think the experts say you shouldn't go more than 10% increase week on week. I don't have much teaching work at the moment and haven't had a rest day since 5th January so have been clocking up the miles. Legs are strangely feeling better than ever, no knee pain at all. 23 miles to add from Monday

1st run since food poisoning, hurray. Slow ready plod, felt very nice to be out. Can't decide whether to do speedwork tomorrow or just rest till Sunday's long run, will see how I feel after primary school running club tomorrow!

Oh no emummy! Glad you got out, it's amazing how drained you feel after having been vomiting Sad

The plan is just to increase my long run but my friend has not been able to run at the weekends the last two weeks so I've joined her in the week in her long run so adding 2 miles to my long run every other week and added 4 onto one of my mid week runs the last two weeks too! Usually aim to run 4 times a week but not usually more than 4 miles at a time.

Hope your leg is improving AuntieStella.
Ran again today, mixed ace run, managed a good speed so feeling much better. Looking forward to Sunday's 12 miles now.

It's achilles tendon (been a problem before) and came on after the week with hard frosts. It's better than it was, but still sore to the touch even light pressure this morning. So I'm going to exercise by long walk in squishest shoes, and might even be driven to the desperate measure of cracking open a 30 day shred DVD.

12 miles over the week for me - slowly coming back after a badly sprained ankle at the start of September.

I share your pain AuntieStella - don't overdo it!

Up at 6 for long run in the dark & frost! Felt OK.
We need a new total for Feb so I think we'll say 23.86, that's mine & still's.
