Anyone fancy joining me for a quick 30 day shred before Christmas?

I've never done it before but am feeling pretty bleugh at the moment and could do with a pick-up. I think it will help me to watch what I'm eating a bit in the run-up to Christmas too.

I've no idea if I will actually manage a whole 30 days but probably more likely to if someone else is spurring me on! Anyone up for it?

Hi, I'm not planning on doing a full run-through of 30DS but definitely trying to get back onto the Jillian train! I have loads of her DVDs and like to mix and match them... trying to get back into the habit of doing something on most days, as well as playing with my new weighted hula hoop, to feel a bit better about myself before Xmas!

There is something good about a structured simple programme like 30DS, and I think it does help you feel much fitter in a relatively short space of time, keep me posted with how you get on!

Ooh I've been thinking about shredding again - I have a proper belly apron going on which I've never had before Sad so I need to do something!

Count me in! I've been meaning to start every week since school went back Blush. I used to do it as soon as I got back from the school run, but since the weather got colder (and I got my new coffee machine ) I have replaced the 9.30 excerise slot with a 9.30 am latte BlushBlush
My jeans are definitely feeling smaller for it!
Getting back on track tomorrow morning

Ah great! A few of us starting today then!

I'm off to buy some hand weights this morning as I don't have any. What weight would people recommend for a first timer?

I think I had 1kg weights when I first started, but I did get a set of three different weights so I could move up/down easily.

I went straight in at 2kg busy, but my whole body was very sore between days 2 and 5! Your body does toughen up quite quickly though

I started yesterday but won't (I don't think) be able to fit in a workout today because of work. I'm aiming for 5/7 days per week!

Just purchased some 1.5kg weights. Now to get the kids fed and to bed!

I have weights. I have the DVD. I even have the remote for the DVD player which has just returned from a 4 month holiday down the back of the radiator...

I just need to fucking do it.

Tomorrow, yes?

I'll have another go. I started it in September but couldn't make time for more than 2 days on the trot so it went by the wayside. I'll have to be a bit more disciplined. I don't have proper weights. Tin cans will do me for a bit.

I've just done day 1 with DC1(15) and dc4(7). Now I have to heave my aching body out in the rain to collect dc2&3 from their swimming lesson Sad

Is the program online anywhere?

Report
busyrascal · 21/11/2016 20:24

It's on You Tube.

I enjoyed it! It was quite hard in parts though and I'm sure I will ache tomorrow! Now to see if I manage to keep it up...

Can't seem to find Level 3 on youtube anymore for free.

I did Jillian's Killer Body (Upper body) workout today, and 10 mins of hula hooping. Feel really good now, getting started is always the hardest bit but you won't regret doing it Smile

Thanks for the links. So do I try Level 1 for 30 days?

Report
indigox · 21/11/2016 22:57

You do each level for 10 days

Just about to do my day 2.

This may be a really daft question but am I supposed to wear trainers? Yesterday I did it barefoot and will do today but I notice they are all wearing trainers in the clip...

Ooh day 2, how are you feeling?

I've always found that doing running and jumping without shoes really strains my calves, not sure why - making compensating for extra stability? But see how you feel, some people do it without. Just don't drop your weights!

Did Killer Buns and Thighs L1 today. I've had this DVD for ages and only done the first level a handful of times; I think I once ventured to L2 and swiftly regretted it! I want to aim to try that again (and maybe even have a go at level 3).

Level 3 is heRe

I sought it out in the summer - don't be put off by all the foreign language around it, the video is in English :)

I did this over the summer and then had months off. I'm now on about day 4 of level 1 again.
