Hi

Has anyone recently started or just about to start? Would be great to have somewhere to check in and cheer each other on.

I've started very slowly and am about to embark on week 3. I'm spending 2 weeks on each week if that makes sense!

Look forward to anyone else joining in.

I am starting week 3 tomorrow - have six weeks till my first 5k. Have been slacking a bit over the summer so hope I can manage it!

Ive ordered running shoes(they haven't arrived yet) and downloaded the app, planning on starting next week. I'm very overweight and unfit - I don't even run for the bus!

Hello

Pleased to see someone has replied. Thought I might be Billy no mates.

Nightshade I'm really unfit too hence me taking it slowly. That first "run" I only managed half of it so that's why I'm doing each week twice. Gives me a chance to work on my fitness.

Pumpkin well done on setting yourself a goal. I don't want to do that (too scared) but once the children are both in school in September I'm hoping that I can give a bit more attention to it and kick it up a gear.

Going out again on Friday morning.

Ah yeah, no need to push yourself too hard - I am really aiming to be able to go out the door and run for 30 minutes. With work and kids I think it might be the easiest exercise to fit in!

Today was ok - it is hot and my calves are very tight but the running itself was actually fine.

Well done on getting it done!

Hello have just posted on the other thread but am a newbie so will join in here as well!

I have signed up for a charity 5k in Oct and would really like to be able to run at least some of it Grin

I'm not following any particular program but am trying to go for a short run once or twice a week and to to keep going for as long as possible. At the moment I can run for approx 5 mins before having to walk a bit, am assuming this will improve!

Hi, can I join please?

I started on Sunday, about to do my third run/walk... maybe this morning or evening. It's the holidays now, I'm wondering how to find the time when school starts again, especially in winter when it's always dark.

Bought a Fitbit the other day. That seems to be going well so far, but finding it a bit more of a challenge on days when I'm not running to do the 10K steps. Again, when school starts, I won't manage an hour walk every day... Times like this I wish I had a dog.

So, jury, now or this evening for the run?

well my running shoes just arrived, but I cant start till my new sports bra has come - tried my old one on, not a chance of fitting in the still bf boobs! looking like it might be a Monday evening start for me.

So, went for my run but the sole came off one of my trainers, so came back before 5 min brisk walk had ended! Where did you get running shoes nightshade?

I'm just starting. I managed to complete it a couple of years ago and then immediately gave up running. I'm doing it this time round with ds and dd so hopefully will keep it up afterwards. We did our first run on Monday and will hopefully fir our second run in today.

I'm in! I finished it about a year ago and stopped after the 5k I had signed up for. I will be starting in September when I get back from holiday. Grin

Hello to all the other newbies.

Going to get my run in tonight as it's meant to rain tomorrow.

Roll on Week 3 for me on Sunday. This afternoon I managed 9 minutes of jogging and 30 minutes of walking in total (about 8 minute walk to the closest park)

Sounds really good to me!

Week 3 of C25K is 90s jogging, 90s walking, 3mins jogging, 3 mins walking x2 repititions (with 5 minutes warm up and cool down walk).

I'm doing that on Sunday morning. Will report back.

Hope you feel better soon!

Hi, I'm trying to do this too, I never get past week 2 which is where I am now and I have eye surgery next week and week after so another two weeks off! Do you think if I get to one session of week 3 before op, I can restart there afterwards? Good luck everyone, sounds like you're doing well.

Re sports bra, I have a shock absorber (36FF) so a lot to control but my boobs don't hurt!

UnconsciousCoupling · 20/08/2016 06:43

Hi Empty I'm sure you can see how you go though obviously if you're being put under and depending on your recovery you may have to be patient before restarting. Hope it's nothing serious??

I've just got a cheapie sports bra from Sainsburys but then i don't really have anything to put in it Blush

Can I join here please? Just been for my second run on week 1.

I though the first run went ok on Thursday but my lower back and hips were killing me all day yesterday. Hips still sore today but managed the second run ok. It's much better doing it in the morning than the evening. Went out about 7am this morning and it was really nice out, only saw dog walkers, a couple of old boys going for the newspaper and 2 young girls doing the walk of shame Grin. Now I'm in the bath soaking my hips!!

sports bra arrived this morning and fits, its a Freya one (36H) labelled for intense activity. Seems really comfy and secure although 3 starjumps may not be an accurate test

Hi all- I've just started c25k, did my first run/ walk last night. No real aim other than weight loss and general fitness. Just hope I can keep going past the first couple of weeks! I found it really hard getting out of the door last night as I felt so self conscoious. Really liked using the c25k podcast though. Well done to all of you who have got through the first few!

I'm still running on treadmill as don't want to look stupid outside! I'm aware it's easier on that too with is a worry as its not easy!

It's cataract surgery so hopefully straightforward but got to avoid pressure.

If bra ok with star jumps it should be fine!

I'm just about to put my running gear on after buying new trainers this morning. I think I got to about week 4 last time (3 years ago) and then stuff happened and I gave up. I now have a desk job and need something to get me active. Hope I can manage week 1! 😬

I'm posting here to make myself do it- rather than sit on the sofa eating chocolate! which I'll probably do later
