I'm recovering from foot surgery and keen to do some toning up. I can't put any weight on my foot. I have got Dumbbells but only wussy little 1kg ones at the moment - but I'm not at all strong!
I am off work for three weeks and wondering what kind of exercise routine I can do - am desperate to get moving and feel productive having spent the last week sitting on the sofa watching tv.
I can manage press ups (on my knees), can't do the plank because I can't use my foot at all. I can do crunches and reverse crunches. I can do chest flies. I can stand up and do that exercise where you hold the weights together above your head and bend your arms to dip the weights down behind your head if that description makes sense? But I wouldn't try anything that requires much balance eg squats.
Can anyone help me out with a routine and maybe suggest how many reps/how long/how many times a day to aim for? I have got the Shred and Ripped in 30 so I did think about just putting them on and doing any exercises which are manageable and don't involve my feet at all. I just feel so sluggish and really want to be doing something!
