Exercise

Sore arse.

Well as the title states really....

I am very unfit and overweight. I have a exercise bike and have been using it for the last 4 days (inc today) for 30 mins 1st day, 60 second day, 90 third day and over 2 hours day. But the seat is so so bloody uncomfortable!

I even have a massive foam cushion on it (and my fat ass) but it still feels bruised!

If I sit anywhere it feels sore and uncomfortable but do not want to give up my exercise. Along with healthy eating and doing this exercise I'm really trying, but don't wanna give up the bike.

How can I make my ass not as sore? Hmm

I bought a padded gel seat cover for a recent bike hire use. They were only about £10 from Halfords. Give that a try ?

I used to have a pair of cycling leggings from H&M which I used for spin class which had a padded bottom - it was a few years ago but might be worth checking if they still do them.

Padded cycle shorts - the pain is actually coming from muscles you haven't engaged before and should get better the longer you do the exercise/cycling - try and keep going you are doing fab Smile

Thanks :).

I thought at least one person was going to take the mick Blush.

I'm on the bike again now. I'm wanting to loose weight to become a surrogate. I've got 40lbs to loose.

But I wanna loose around 100lbs total.

i had a sore arse when I took up cycling. I just got used to the bike and the sore arse went in the end. Keep up the good work :-)

Why do you think cyclists wear nappy-like shorts?! Not to be fashionable, that's for sure.
It gets better with time, but don't feel bad about whatever you have to do while you're getting used to it.

Thanks. I'm half tempted to get the OH to rub it better but he's too excitable!

Can't offer any specific tips. I'd be just as worried about all your muscles. I am not a professional but know I was told to gradually increase exercise. Going from barely any exercises to two hours in a day might be a bit steep. If I did that I wouldn't have stuck to it, but everyone is different.

I need to. I have a lot of weight to shift and this is my last go at trying to loose weight before I decide to give up on my dream of being a surrogate.

Im giving it till the end of July and then seeing how much I've lost.

Currently 18st 12lbs

Ideal weight is around 13st

But if I can get to 16st then I can be a surrogate.
