Hello, cinnamon. Just shamelessly place-marking ready to log my miles later.

Thanks for the new thread cinnamon.
Saving my legs for tomorrow's parkrun, so I decided to go to town and have a bacon sandwich instead of run while DS1 was at pre school this morning Grin

Extremely sensible use of time there Thursday, well done! Deciding between run tonight or early tomorrow morning before ds's swimming lesson at 9. Will see how I feel

Excellent strategy Thursday

Thanks for the new thread cinnamon and for all the HM replies. Yes, I think it will be hard but do-able and I am kind of thinking I can fit the training in. I need to lose about a stone (I'm thinking it will make it a bit easier and less stress on my knees etc), I am actually finding the weight loss a bit daunting. (Have discovered vegan choc digestives in the supermarket)

Marking my place. No running today, but tomorrow my relais team is running in a local relay race of 65kms, there are 8 of us and we always celebrate in the evening regardless of the result. Last year the weather was awful, it rained really hard and was freezing, this year I think we will be too hot!

stilllearnin · 07/05/2016 07:24

Anglaise good luck today - I think I remember that from last year! Is it 10k laps? Or was that someone else on some outrageous overnight thingy? Anyway - have fun running and then celebrating.

I was in the park this morning at 5.30 with the new fella. We live in adjacent streets and unable to sleep met up for a walk and a flask of coffee. Back for yoga. No actual running for me today - just running round after loads of children Smile

Good luck Anglaise, hope it goes well, and enjoy the celebrations!
Easy run for me after bit of a tummy bug yesterday. Lovely morning

Adding another parkrun 3.1 158.8

Was hellishly hard, I took a tumble into some bluebells Blush, but I did it! A glorious comeback, I think not.

Good luck anglaise 3.1 from me today. Did a local course I haven't been to in 2 months. I have never gotten sub 30 on it as it has 3 hills.

My friend Was tail running so she kindly took DD in the buggy on the proviso I got a PB. Her DH had my. 4 old ds and their DD as my DH was working.
It was hot and hard but I smashed it 1min 4 off PB. Grin
Celebrated with a prosecco afternoon tea with friends at one of their houses a most enjoyable day.

Well done Purpletoes, brilliant PB Smile
Good luck Anglaise, hope all went well with the relay and you are busy celebrating now Wine
Thank you for new thread cinnamon
Yup Stilllearnin, you def have to do a HM now! I have entered one in Sept too, it's far enough away to not seem too worrying yet, but I'm sure that will soon change!

I had a lovely run yesterday, one of my old off-road routes I haven't been on for ages. It is a bit seasonal as in winter is usually a muddy quagmire and in late summer/autumn some sections are too overgrown with nettles for a wuss like me. But it was in perfect condition yesterday and took me past lots of new baby lambs, saw some deer, some hares, lots of pheasants, and it was just fabulous
Smile

Also a couple of other runs earlier in week so I have a 4.8, a 5.6 and yesterday's 7.2 to add

Sounds very romantic stilllearnin!

Well done purpletoes! Sounds like a lovely day and what parkrun is all about Smile

Nice familygermsareok, I love wildlife when I'm running Grin

Good luck Anglaise1, was pretty warm at parkrun yesterday.

parkrun and there and back from me yesterday, don't think I'll be running today. Still struggling with dh and his attitude towards my runs Sad he said he feels like I'm trying to get away from him when I jump up in he mornings and run. Don't know what to do with him really, I've been running for 4 years now and he's still not happy with it. I won't give up but I'm tired of the battle. The worst thing is he has his own sport which he demands time for and I've always been gracious in that, it often has meant coming back from days out early but it is always at the top of the list for importance Angry

I think I love wildlife while I'm running but then realise that the reason all the bunnies are scampering away is because of my big thundering footsteps!!

Cinners what is going on there then? What is at the root of all that with dh? And what's his solution - does he actually want you to stop? (sorry I went all Relationships Board on you there!!)

Phew it was scorchio this morning. I did not sleep at all and have a cold so thought I'd go out for a saunter but rather enjoyed plodding along for 5.85 miles.

196.75?

A really enjoyable 6.2 from me this morning. First one I've actually enjoyed in the moment for a while. Felt great to have my mojo.

cinnamon that sounds tough with your DH, especially when you think he'd be a bit more understanding of it as he has his own interests. Flowers

Oh cinnamon what a plonker your DH is. How on earth can he not see that running us good for you? In all the various way?

Perhaps you could both take time off from your hobbies, together, to make him understand how much you both benefit? His hypocrisy is a bit galling, that's for sure.

No running for me today, I'm aching all over from parkrun and gave some impressive bruises from my fall!

Congrats on your PB Purple
Nice to see you back Family and glad to hear you are back running.
Cinners I'm so sorry that DH is still being so unsupportive about your running. Especially as he values his sport. Can you find some sort of compromise? although I don't think you should have to as in my opinion he is the one being unreasonable
Relay race was very hot and windy but we won the all feminine category! All the girls were very motivated as another girl's team were sure they were going to win and we beat them by 7 mins overall.
13 miles from me in total, I did a 5km run to my relay and a 5km run back as well as the 10km relay itself.

Congrats Anglaise Great work.

Cinnamon Just start complaining every time he goes off to his sport and then maybe he'll get the message? Do you think it's actually just a reluctance to look after the DC by himself? I do have friends whose husbands' keenness on "family time" is a barely disguised attempt to avoid any solo parenting.

I did an easy 5 miler on Saturday morning as I had a 'mare at work last week and didn't do much running at all, and then I had a 16k trail race yesterday. Despite the ridiculous heat, I decided to "go hard or go home" as I thought I might be able to place and knew there was a crazy bottleneck about 1.5k in. First 3k were hell - straight up a massive road climb and it always takes me so long to get legs, lungs and heart warmed up, but then there was the most gorgeous 8k contour trail/ ridge line. Tough technical climb and terrifying gully descent at the end, but came in 3rd (20 secs behind a 3:11 marathoner, so I'll take that).

So 15 from me, plus 13 from Anglaise to make 240.95
