A very basic couch to 5k question

So I was going to start this today but the weather is atrocious (well it looks like it's about to be, it's very windy and dark like it will rain any second!) I just wondered with the Zenlab couch to 5k app...on week 1 day 1 do you complete 5k but take a long time or do you do a shorter distance? Thanks.

It's a shorter distance. You might not be doing 5k by the end of the programme- but you should be able to run for 30min without stopping.

The early weeks are closer to 2-3k. As the walking reduces and running builds up, you'll cover more distance in the time, again, not necessarily the full 5k. Beginners often need 35 to 45 mins for that distance.
